Joseph Njoroge

Joseph is a prolific choral director in Nairobi. He enjoys sharing his extraordinary artistic ideas to choral ensembles in and around Nairobi.

Joseph is also a peripatetic teacher, teaching the flute, piano and voice at Braeburn Garden Estate, International School of Kenya and Peponi School.

Joseph has studied conducting under Dr. Kevin Fenton (Head of choral activities, Florida State University), Dr. Manvinder Rattan in the UK, through the sing for pleasure organisation. He practices his skills by directing the following choirs: Bel Canto Chorus, St. Claire choir – Ongata Rongai and the St. Paul’s Chapel community choir. Joseph also actively directs some music at the Kenya Conservatoire’s Symphony Orchestra.

Joseph is a prolific flautist, currently playing at the Nairobi orchestra, Conservatoire’s symphony orchestra and the Nairobi flute Ensemble.

He enjoys learning all sorts of music theory content and seeing how they apply practically in a performance setting. As such, he has the highly coveted ABRSM grade 8 in music theory.

Joseph has an interest in Mathematics and computer science, and practices them as a hobby every so often.
